Signature coffees
In October, we held the first Portugal Best Coffee Roaster, a pioneering event in Portugal that celebrated the incredible talent of Portugal's specialty coffee roasters.
This unique competition challenged participants to demonstrate their skill in two main categories:
- Signature Roast, won by Von & Vonniewith his unmistakable style.
- Challenge Roast, a blind challenge, won by Al-gharb Coffee Roasters
After the cupping sessions and an analysis of the consistency in the two rounds, it is a pleasure to announce that the big winner was Senzu Coffee Roasterswinning the Portuguese title Best Coffee Roaster 2024.
A 7g Roaster also received the honorable mention for Fan Favorite.
This event was more than a competition-it was a celebration of the talent, innovation and community that makes specialty coffee so wonderful.
A big thank you to our partners in this championship - BELCO and Sage Appliances.
Here you'll find the coffees presented in the round Signature Roast.

Congratulations on promoting an innovative and special event, it's another step on the journey through coffee culture, namely roaster.
Let's hope that at a future event we can have specialty coffee beans of Portuguese origin. As a producer of organic coffee on the island of Madeira, the development of a product of quality and naturalness combined with its origin is a virtue and a dream, the passion for coffee and the love of nature is in a way the development of something unique capable of creating roots, and originalities that can bring new flavors to coffee lovers.
Thank you so much for your beautiful and inspiring words!
We totally share this dream of seeing coffee grown in Portugal come to the fore. It's a project we greatly admire, above all for its respect for nature and the incredible potential it has to tell new stories and bring new flavor profiles to coffee lovers.
It would be fantastic if at a future event we could also celebrate this special coffee from Madeira, bringing together local production, sustainability and innovation.
After all, as he says, this is what coffee is all about: passion, roots and sharing.
Thank you for joining us on this journey!
